Kanye West was the musical guest on the season finale of SNL last night, and not only did he perform the track, New Slaves, that he visually placed on sixty-six buildings across the globe, he premiered a new track entitled, Black Skinhead. Also, as you know now Rap-Up has confirmed that Kanye’s upcoming album, Yeezus, will be releasing on June 18th. The Roots Bongo Band Announces New Single Release

Gambia’s first and only self-composing Reggae Band announced the release of their newest single ‘Never give it up’ from the debut album ‘Leaders of Tomorrow’. It is, what the members call, a ‘Roots-Pop-Reggae’ track sung by the band’s female vocalist Nina Beste. Having aired on Radio Stations across the country, the band has now produced a video clip, shot by their production company ‘Roots Bongo N’Dabli Productions’. The track is meant to inspire, as well as give hope to the listeners, bringing across a message of positive thinking, dedicating oneself to ones dream in life, and to ‘Never give it up’ no matter the struggles and difficulties faced by everyday life.

About The Roots Bongo Band
The Gambian based band was initially formed in 2001 by the two male vocalists JoeHero and Afang Maakangbaa. The band started of as an acoustic set of three members, performing mostly at bars and hotels in the touristic areas of Gambia. After collaborating with Nina Beste in June 2009, the band was newly formed and introduced Nina as their new female vocalist.

About the debut album ‘Leaders of Tomorrow’
The debut album ‘Leaders of Tomorrow’ was recorded in London, UK in late 2011. After completion the band decided to launch it in their home country of the Gambia, where it has since been promoted by the band through local Radio and TV stations.
The album consists of 10 ‘World-Beat’ tracks and two remixes. The European-African vibes and influences give the band and the album a unique sound and strong identity.

The Roots Bongo Band is currently on the Kombo Tour of 2013 that takes them to several towns and districts around the costal area of The Gambia.

The sound of Northern California’s hip-hop group, the Digital Martyrs, is both newfangled and distinguishable, which had always left a breathless impression on fans at attendance.
